Overall Rating:

The rate reflects 2 nights for a w/e site using PPA for the first night. We stayed here as we are heading East on I-80 as it was a convenient place to park the RV while we did a quick road trip in the toad to see family in Denver for a day. It worked for that but we would probably not stay here again. They only had w/e sites available when I called in the morning, which was okay for use, but when we got there we found the w/e sites are in the grass and not the most level... As many of the other reviews have noted, the place has plenty of room for improvements. Permanent campers are the norm, which would be fine if they were kept up. Plenty of weeds and grass to cut. Our picnic table was in disrepair, the trash can across form us was tipped over and strewn about.... overall, just in a general stage of disrepair and needing some TLC. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stopped here for one night. Full hook-ups cost $48, so we opted to dry camp which is still costly at $30/night but since we have Passport America it was half priced. This is a historic ranch that seems to have a lot of activities but the season was over. The restaurant on site was closed. The RV park looks run down, lots of permanent campers with stuff outside. The sites are grass, the roads are gravel, there are not many trees. The staff seemed friendly and escorted us to our site, the camp store seemed adequate. Since the campground is right along I-25 there is a lot of road noise. It was ok for a night, but probably would not stay longer. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Heading south out of the Black Hills, we needed a campground for a couple of nights. Glad it was only 2 nights. The place has plenty of room for improvements. Permanent campers are a mess, shredded awnings, broken grills, propane tanks sitting around, etc. Plenty of weeds and long grass to cut. Not sure if the campsites are gravel that have had grass grow through or grass that has a lot of gravel in it. Some of the security lights don't work, broken picnic tables, messy trash areas, etc. Just in a general stage of disrepair and needing some TLC. This could be a awesome place, with the Buffalo, restaurants and other features for kids. Rate is the average for 2 nights using PPA. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Let me start this review with WE DID NOT STAY HERE. I had called to make a reservation for later in August when we came back thru from Yellowstone...and was told I needed to call back later in the day as they were having to get all their monthly people renewed first before booking anything else. We were not too far away and decided to drive over that afternoon instead. So very glad we did! This place is really a dump. It's like driving thru a ghetto of old tore up RVs junk yards. Weeds growing very tall everywhere...Just awful. Also, if you need Verizon to work, it doesn't. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This park has deteriorated in appearance and quality of sites. There are numerous pot holes-too many to weave around and instead of the clean transient park we remember it is filled with full timers who have untidy sites. One has to watch where they walk as people are not cleaning up after their pets. The trash bins were filled to overflowing which was attracting a lot of flies. Ok for an overnight. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

It's a huge ranch (27,500 acres or 41 Sq. miles) and its business is raising buffalo (3,000 head). The campground, et. al. is more of a side business, I'm sure. Yes, it's rough, but it's unique. This is our second time here...and we'll come back again. They have farm animals...with new babies, camels, ostriches, peacocks and more. Take an ATV ride around the ranch. We saw antelope as well as bison...and what a view! The place can always use more maintenance and I can't understand why more isn't done, but this place was never intended to be "yuppyville". We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Eat breakfast at the cafe...as you walk by chickens, turkeys, peacocks. Eat lunch or dinner at the restaurant and try a bison burger. Enjoy a horseback or ATV ride. Take a trolly ride of Cheyenne just 13 miles away. This is not your typical RV park and that's what makes it great!

We were unable to get reservations at our first choice for this area so we went with this campground and now I am glad we did. Check in was pleasant and we were escorted to our FHU, drive through site. Road to sites can have some ruts and potholes so drive slow. Sites are a mix of gravel and grass. Our site was pretty level but some sites looked rutted and needed more leveling. Sites are very close together, we had to do some maneuvering to pull in around our neighbors awning. Shower and restrooms are large and clean and the laundry had plenty of washers and dryers. There are a lot of activities here. They have horseback riding, pony rides for children, fishing pond stocked with trout, and a petting zoo, along with two playground areas. Best of all was the ride out to see the bison. Two restaurant's and we ate at the Senator. Food was good but service was very slow, even with no other events that night. In spite of a few negatives, I would stay here again. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Greeley, CO was only an hour south and has one of the US largest model railroads. Cheyenne Museum Depot was fun and a Walmart superstore is convenient.

The shower heads spray everywhere except on you which causes water to pool on the ground outside your shower stall. The shower stalls are to small (and I’m not big). The parks novelty seems neat. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

If you are looking for something unique, this is the place. The bison train ride should definitely be taken. We enjoyed the steakhouse as well, and even though there was a wedding reception held inside one night, the service still got around to us. Traffic noise from I-25 was present but soon faded into the background. Only issue was the rutted up pad that we set up on, probably due to recent rain. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Travel Trailer.

As noted many long term residents and some are not in very good shape and they park into the road. My biggest complaint was my site needed gravel to fill in the mud puddles. Will look around for another campground next time. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed here 3 nights in a motorhome with tow. This campground has a lot to offer, ranch atmosphere, nice but expensive restaurant , well equipped store, and very nice people to check you in. The interior roads are dirt and rough, my site was a back in on grass, the utilities were properly located and worked well. The campground is about 10 miles from downtown Cheyenne and is also about the only one around. I did not use any of the entertainment features so I felt like the site fee was a little expensive for a grass site, no picnic table. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed 2 night ($24 night 1, 48 night 2). We were able to use Passport America for 1 night. This is a working bison ranch. We took the train ride to see the bison. The kids loved it. Food was great at the restaurant. We had good internet access with both Verizon and ATT. Feed the bison on the train ride, eat at the restaurant, drink the local whisky. Rate reflects Passport America discount plus tax. Arrived in the early afternoon and checked in which was very easy. Watch for the potholes at the entrance. They provided a brochure with a restaurant menu and a 10% discount coupon. Our site #81 was very tight but adequate for us for one night. All sites are tight and very close to your neighbors. There are a lot of full-time residents here and some of them have a junk/tools/ etc. around their rig. Most of the sites also need weed whacking and/or mowing. The whole park needs some attention. Good solid 50 amp power and fairly good water pressure. Verizon cell service was 4 bars of 4g LTE and we were able to get a good DirecTv satellite signal with our on-board antenna. We would not have stayed here if they didn't take Passport America. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a great place. Lots of animals (horses, ostrich, donkey, chickens, turkey, camels, pigs, bison), train ride, horse trail rides; fishing; ATV rides; great restaurant; saloon. Lots of FHU pull through and back-in sites. They also have cabins and tent sites. Water and electric both good. No cable but lots of OTA stations. Sites are gravel and very close together. There is a clubhouse but I did not go in. Nice gift shop. Family friendly - two playgrounds. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed 2 nights in a 43' motorhome. Received PA discount $24 for 1st night, 2nd night regular price, total cost was $79+ for 2 nights. Easy on-off from I-25. Entrance has major POTHOLES, that will damage your coach if not careful, as you pass thru stone archway. All CG roads are dirt with some gravel that used to be asphalt and are wide, easy to navigate with a big rig. Park is run down and needs a lot of maintenance. There appear to be many seasonal rigs. Check-in was smooth and friendly. Our site was #89, level, FHU PT, no cable or shade, at rear of CG away from I-25, no noise. All utilities worked well. Good OTA channels. Site was easy to get into but very close together. Looked at bathrooms and showers when in office/gift store -very clean. No dog park but plenty of space to walk your dog and enjoy the great views of the rolling hills and bison. CG recommended on site restaurant(The Senator). Didn't care for the restaurant. They had a wedding inside so they offered outdoor seating. There was no one there yet we had to wait until they cleaned the table(s). As we waited the smell of bison, cattle and horse manure together with the many flies drove us away and we went into town for lunch. The restaurant seemed understaffed. Maybe, indoor seating would be better experience. Overall at the PA rate it's an OK stay but regular rate it's overpriced. If passing thru we would stay here again overnight. We camped at Terry Bison Ranch Resort in a Motorhome.

Definitely do the "Trolley Tour" and visit the "CFD Old West Museum". For good food have lunch at "Sanfords" on 17th street in Cheyene. The decor is "Antiques and Collectibles" as seen on the TV show "American Pickers".
