Location, Location! This is the best park to stay at and see Devils Tower. Sadly being the best location they can charge a premium price and deliver little. I am sure they stay busy no mater what but it would be nice to see a little more pride in ownership. $62 plus tax for a back in electric water only site with long grass and 15 piles of dog crap we had to pick up before even being able to set up. Just sad that with just a little pride in their property and some basic cleaning this would have been the perfect spot. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed one night on our trip. Campground is located right at the entrance to Devils Tower. Couldn't be more convenient! It had been raining a lot so there was a lot of mud and puddles but our site wasn't flooded. Clean bath house. Nice view of the tower from our site. Grill at site but no fire pits. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed 1 night on our trip to Yellowstone. I wanted a site with good visibility of Devil's Tower and this campsite delivers. Our initial site was muddy and wet but the staff was friendly and took us out to see several other sites before we chose one. Still had a great view. Clean bathrooms and showers. Tips for other Campers:

You are right next to Devil's Tower national monument entrance but still a mile and a half from the actual tower. Most spots in the park offer a great view of thew tower. They also show "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" each night at 8pm in an outdoor theater.

We stayed one night. State roads from I-90 to reach Devil's Tower are good and well-marked. When we arrived at the campground corner, they were in the midst of a Saturday car show and it was very hard to tell where to turn in. We stopped and checked with the office and proceeded. Not fun to turn around a large motorhome and tow car...ever. This KOA has a cafe on site; hours were reduced due to end of summer. One special feature: the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", which was partly filmed at Devil's Tower, is shown on the patio every night! The Devil's Tower entrance is just past the campground. The Devil's Tower Trading Post is across the road. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Motorhome.

This was during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.... however, my comments are still germain. For $75/night, the campground should be better appointed. Concrete Pads, mowed grass, more 'finished' looking.... this would not be such an issue "IF" this were $30~40 / night.... but $75? Nope. Not good enough (imo). Dusty.... when anyone rolls by on an RV or personal vehicle. KOAs, in general, seem pricey. Unfortunately, although we were last minute, it didn't explain the high cost for what you're getting. Lucky for us, the people next to us left earlier than we did so it allowed some maneuvering space for us to get hooked up and out. The roads between the parked RVs are very tight and you can't help but run over your neighbors space. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Motorhome.

We were at campsite 69. Back in FHU 50amp...worth it! Stared right across at devil's tower with no one obstructing our view. A little pricey but what can you say when the park entrance is a couple hundred feet down the row. Love the post office right at the campsite! Playground was wonderful. Good park! The park is literally at the gate to Devils Tower entrance (we even walked into the park 2 days to go to Prairie Dog Town). There is no sewer, but there is a dump on site. The sites are gravel, with lots of surrounding grass. Some areas have lots of trees, some sections have none. The pool is small, but nice on a hot day. They show the Close Encounters movie every night, which is fun, since the tower is RIGHT THERE. You can buy some basic groceries in the town of Hulett. Tips for other Campers:

Don't go to the Tower during the day, its a madhouse with no parking. Instead, go after 6:30, before the visitor centers closes at 7. Then take the 1.3 mile walk around the base of the Tower, when its nice and cool. It really is amazing and the view of the valley below is incredible. Make sure to be there around sunset as the Tower turns bright orange.

Pull-Thru sites are very long - no need to detach Gravel pads fairly level. Most sites have great view of the Tower. Nice clean laundry room. $2.25 for wash $2 for 45 min dry. Pool was cool, but refreshing on a hot day. Park roads: Gravel and dusty, easy to navigate with the map. Kind of pricey, but would stay here again due to the location. Don't arrive before 12:30 - they may ask you to move to lot across the street (limited parking for big rigs) Area bike riding was pretty good, nice country roads, or enough shoulder on 24. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice view of Devils Tower. Dump Site is a bad design/execution- the sewer hole is high in a cement pit, but the pit fills with muddy water from the lawns having been watered. There is no way to get to the dump without stepping into the muddy water. Then when you go to rinse your hose, the rinse water comes on at high power causing the muddy water to splash on you. Nasty any way you look at it. Felt like a scene from the movie "RV" with Robin Williams. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Motorhome.

Most important...do fuel up beforehand because there are no stations nearby and it's a hike back to I90. You can't get any closer to the park w/o being in it. Awesome views from throughout the park. Wait until late in the day before entering the park. The park is small and traffic backs up until at least mid-afternoon. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Motorhome.

Expensive park in desirable area, thus high price. Fills up quickly so reservations advised. Site was "best view" in park, which it was. Site involved very careful maneuvering to back our 38 ft fiver between a tree, post, narrow road and fence into unlevel fairly short soft gravel/dirt pad. We extended well past pad onto grassy sloping hill. Utilities at back of site worked well. Campground supplied internet weak. Verizon and Sprint with limited service. No OTA TV. Typical KOA amenities plus restaurant. Fenced dog area small. No fuel station nearby so fill up first. Located at gate to Devil's Tower. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice clean campground with onsite gift shop and restaurant. Nice size lots. We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was fine. You can get a great view of Devil's Tower right from the campground. Unfortunately there are sodium lights in use at night in the park, so that ruins any chance of nighttime photography without driving off site. The campground is just outside of the park. The grassy area separating our site was quite large and site was level. The advertised pool was still not open and no discount given on nightly rate. The roads within the campground were a little confusing and would have appreciated a guide to our site. We camped at Devils Tower / Black Hills KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
