Stayed July 2018 for three nights in 27 foot long trailer. The sites were incredibly tight. Two rv's are in each site lined up. Then the rv's in the site next to yours are so close the slides almost touch. So you have four rv's in the space normally provided for two. The garbage collection is non- existent. There are two dumpsters at the entrance that are locked. You have to get the key during office hours to unlock the dumpsters to dump your trash. The first night our neighbors started a noisy party about 10:30 pm. It was still going on after midnight. I looked in the materials given at check in to see if there was a night phone number but found nothing. The next morning I spoke with the front office and reported the incident. I asked if there was a security person who monitored the park. Apparently this service doesn't exist. The office personnel didn't seem concerned about the noise or disturbance. The park is mostly filled with owner occupied park model homes. Many of them are for sale by owner or through the local RE office. To use the wifi you have to go to the clubhouse/library/party barn. Only got reception in a small area there. The floor in the giant room where concerts, dinners, parties are held looked like it had not been swept or mopped in months. I expected to feel the beauty of Wyoming at this park. Instead it was tight, crowded and a disappointment. I would not recommend this rv park to anyone. We camped at Star Valley Ranch RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is an owner type park so comments will reflect that. There are a few, maybe a dozen plus sites available for overnight customers. Rates are in the $40's I think. There's a golf course across road and pickle ball in the park. Fishing is reportedly pretty good in the valley. The internal roads are "paved" but in mediocre shape. A lot of vegetation in lots with some overgrowth. Lots are on a slant and vary from 35 to 45 ft across and about 65 ft long but seem to be measured from corner to opposite corner. So this is a destination type park and monthly rental rates are very reasonable. I would stay here again long term but would not bother for an overnighter. WIFI is almost non-existent except for a couple of sites. We camped at Star Valley Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Golf, pickle ball, fishing, hiking, ATVing, and Grand Teton & Yellowstone within a days drive. The two small towns in the valley both have adequate grocery and hardware stores. If you're a Wal-Mart junkie, you'll have to drive about 100 miles.

Overall Rating:

If your looking for an RV park between Afton and Alpine Junction, do yourself a favor and skip this one. It is NOT an RV park that caters to anyone but the folks that own their own lots. The attendant admitted as much to us as we were setting up.

The first site we were on had a problem at electric pedestal; breakers tripping everywhere inside coach. Next site OK electrically. The sites are horribly out of level. Be prepared with blocks to supplement your jacking system. We never did get quite level, but adequate for a 3-night stay.

The sites are configured very poorly. Two units per site. It you're a pull-thru, you pull in one way so you can pull out when you're ready to leave. If you're OK backing out when it's time to go, you pull in the opposite direction. And the sites are jammed together. Our slide out was almost touching our neighbor next door.

It was a busy weekend when we stayed, a big group of family campers next to us, very noisy, due to the close proximity of the sites. If you want grass, take a walk to the big field by the pickle ball courts, as the sites are all gravel and dirt.

There's a lot of tree cover, so whether you can use your satellite tv dish is iffy at best. We were not able to get satellite reception on either site they put us on. And there's no cable TV. You might get clear reception on 3 or 4 TV channels using your batwing.

Wifi bandwidth is sporadic, typical of many RV parks. Better use it early AM or very late at night. And if they catch you (don't know how they monitor or determine) using more than 1GB per 24 hours, they shut you off for 24 hours.

Garbage service is totally unacceptable. You must drag your trash to a locked dumpster near the front gate and get key from gate attendant, so don't plan on disposing of your trash other than the hours the check-in folks are on duty to get you a key. Mail service is confusing; one location for mail, another for UPS.

Lone bright spot: nice enough pool with very clean shower facilities. We camped at Star Valley Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Location beautiful. Park has tremendous potential, actual is poor. Infrastructure quite dated. First impression driving in is slummy. Many sites individually owned, no apparent standards for clutter, grooming, or upkeep of sites. Here for a month. First site they put us on was uninhabitable. Overgrown trees, weeds, sewer line 2' above ground level. Second site was gravel, weeds, sloped. Sauna sign says "get the key", but doesn't say where, and check-in office, sales office, store didn't know where. Pool attendant has the key, but when pool closed there is no key. So on cool, rainy days no sauna because pool is closed. Secret here is do a recon, find a private owner that takes pride in their site and convince them to rent directly. Park pool of rentals is full of poorly maintained lots. For stay of one or two nights "transient" sites are OK, but long term rental sites are roulette. Management needs to become more involved and enforce standards. We camped at Star Valley Ranch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a really classy park with lots of amenities. The restrooms are very clean and the shower pressure is very good. The staff are friendly and helpful. The sites are a bit close together, but we had great neighbors, so we didn't mind. Our site did not have cable and we could only get 4 air channels, but they were good ones. The scenery is amazing. We had originally planned to stay only one night, but we opted for two. We would definitely return to this park. We camped at Star Valley Ranch RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We drove 20 minutes south to Afton and then took the 5 mile dirt road and the 3/4 mile hike to the Periodic Springs. These springs gush out of the mountain side and feed a beautiful, fast-flowing creek that the hiking trail follows. The road is rough (we were happy to have had an off-road suspension option on our truck) but the scenery was amazing and there is no entry fee.

Expected much more from the description. Setting is in beautiful Star Valley. Small area for overnight and short term stays. Not much but gravel. Fixtures worked, WiFi was not good at all, restrooms were not cleaned regularly. Resort needs some serious TLC and capital infusion. We camped at Star Valley Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

I am one of the lot owners and have spent 3-4 months here in the summer every year for 22 years. What you need to know is that the property is owned by a group of several brothers. They are all at or near retirement age and have for a few years tried to sell. They have been unable to close a deal and have absolutely no interest in spending money to upgrade, improve or maintain other than the basics. The weather and the location are superior and that is the reason we keep returning year after year.

As to the conditions, adequate. The roads are paved and the privately owned lots are for the most part attractive. The lots available for overnighters have a strange layout but are pullthroughs with full hookups. There are many trees and for a night or two, the setup will be okay. WiFi is pretty bad and to get rid of garbage you have to go to the check-in office, get a key, and deposit the bag in a locked container at the main entrance. The restrooms are just okay, nothing to brag about. All in all, if you stop in for a night or two and then are on your way, you won't be screaming about what a ripoff it was but you also won't remember it the following winter as one of the best. We camped at Star Valley Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Not much to add to the very descriptive previous reviews. We were able to rent and owner's lot which gave us a concrete pad and shade in the older section of the park. Owner sites are all back-in, and most are more developed than the overnight sites. Friendly people, quiet this time of year, and in a beautiful setting. Verizon cell/date were strong, park WiFi weak, and few OTA stations. A great location but be prepared for pricey shopping and dining. We camped at Star Valley Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a RV resort with a few short term spaces mixed with purchased RV lots. Owned lots are spacious, short term lots are adequate, but close together. Sites are level, gravel, with some shade. No cable, very weak WIFI, ATT poor signal, Verizon good. All utilities worked well. Very nice amenities. Large pool, pickle ball courts, large club house with a lot of activities. Would stay again, but would rent a "privately owned" space for $400-$500 month. Rate based on "special coupon" for 1 week w/2 rounds of golf. We camped at Star Valley Ranch RV Park in a Motorhome.

Free WiFi, spotty but good enough for a couple of days. Only a few broadcasts on the antenna. We stayed on a private lot, you can ask if they have a spot available when you make a reservation. Used to be RPI, but they ended this. The pool was not open yet when we where here. Nice people everywhere, lots of long summer stayers. There is a great pickle ball-community, free playing in the afternoon but if you want to play with others in the morning there is a fee of $ 10 a season. Huge exchange library. Very quiet day- and nighttime. We sure come back. We camped at Star Valley Ranch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Location, location, location... this old park may not have the cleanest showers or restrooms, and the amenities are old and dated, but the location is perfect. Just 45 miles south of Jackson Hole and an hour's drive from Grand Teton National Park, this park has LOTS going for it. There is a pool and laundry and small convenience store on site to service the 1,000 campers who come here in droves every summer. Demand continues for this wonderful campground as this park is now expanding with an entirely new section with a few hundred more camp sites. Many people choose to place a permanent park model or 5th wheel on their site and rent it for the full season or choose to lease it or own it long-term. This may not be the newest or shiniest park in Wyoming, but it is my very favorite. We camped at Star Valley Ranch RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

My wife line dances every day here, while I golf. Thayne has an excellent True Value hardware store and adequate supermarket. Jackson Whole Grocer, Smith's Grocery, and Albertson's in Jackson Hole have gigantic stores that will match anything we have ever seen in any big city.

Four GREAT golf courses (two of which you can walk to from your RV), plus close and easy access to fishing on the Greys, Salt and Snake Rivers, ATV trails galore, and gorgeous snow capped mountains covered in pine and aspen trees make this an outdoor paradise. Cedar Creek semi-private golf course is about 1 mile away and nestled into the mountains of the Bridger-Teton National Forest and it is my favorite golf course in the whole USA. The scenery is spectacular and the course is challenging... be sure to bring your camera as you'll spend as much time taking pictures as you will golfing.

We stayed in an owner site. Its hard to rate because all owner sites are different. Ours had a concrete patio with a gravel pad, but no picnic table. It is a very good rate compared to the pull-thru's which are a lot more. The Park is quite with all the amenities you can ask for. The Barn (rec room) is not very inviting with a section reserved for a library. The laundry was far away needing a car to get there. We were there at the end of May, nothing was open. The pool ,store and sauna were closed. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Star Valley Ranch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

95% of this park is ownership-based. The area we were in was one of only a couple designated for short-term stays. It is a huge place and fun to walk around. How big, walking the perimeter is about 1.5 miles. Most owned spaces have RV's on them, but there are also ones with destination trailers or tiny homes (mostly park models). The short-term areas have exceptionally long pull-through spaces and a goofy system of being in one space, but hooking up to the pedestal for another site (makes sense once you see it). Great base-camp for hikes in the area and day trips to Grand Teton NP or Jackson Hole. We camped at Star Valley Ranch RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

If you are looking for a long-term or seasonal stay, check into spaces being rented by the individual owners (I saw offers as low as $300/mo). They will be back-in sites and may have improvements like concrete pads or patios.

We stayed here for just one night. Very nice community. Lots of summer full timers, with one section for short term travelers. Active Pickleball club play every morning. This park has quite a few full time residents and snowbirds who buy their spaces. There aren't many spots available for overnight or weekly. The spot we had was "ok" - gravel and not very wide. But the people there were friendly. Didn't like that you had to get a key from the registration office in order to unlock the garbage cans to dispose of your garbage, but I guess they have their reasons for doing this. Also, our sewer drain was uphill which was kind of weird. We camped at Star Valley Ranch RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
