Best option anywhere near Watson Lake. Great for big rigs. Large sites. Much better than the cramped gravel parking lots in Watson Lake. The staff was short handed, but they made every effort to meet our needs. Would return again! We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed Aug 2019, once heading to Fairbanks and once on the way back. I booked both ahead of time using the Milepost and online searches to ensure we had a spot when we arrived. I wish I had not booked here. When we arrived to check in the fellow at the office was busy carving wooden shoes. The most insincere greeting I have every had at a park followed, apparently I was taking away from his hobby by trying to find a spot and pay. There are some very nice Yukon Government campground down the road (although without power) that we would have stayed at. The price was $60 for 30 amp, water and 3 channels of cable in a pull through. No WIFI unless you go to the main building. The sani dump is located in the field beside the caravan parking. Our site was in the trees but if your in a caravan, beware! They put you in a field at the back of the property. This spot is certainly using its location to jack up prices and provide poor service. There are so many rules to follow and you will see them as they are posted through out the property. Mostly pertaining to the WIFI usage. Would not stay here again. We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

As stated before there are not a lot of options in the area and they take full advantage of that fact. Rates are high and "add ons" like the mandatory "recycling fee" sure don't help. Everything here is extra. WiFi is extra, TV is extra.

The check-in is painful and the very rude lady at the restaurant next door acted like she had no idea what I was talking about regarding the sign on the door of the park saying: "check in at the restaurant counter." Luckily the cook overheard the commotion and came out and said the host had to leave for a while and just wait down by the office. The host finally showed up and almost $80 Canadian later we had a water/electric spot for one night. The spot was level and the electrical outlet was new and the water was good. We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.

Not many parks to choose from in the area. This one has been working to improve their sites & amenities to attract the Big Rigs. We had a nice level pull though with electric & water. Sani dump on the way out. We’re OK with that, we know how expensive putting in a septic system is in this type of geography. They even have to pump out and haul out the sani dump contents.
Laundry & bathroom facilities were clean & well maintained. We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good Sam discount only if you pay cash. Stayed one night this month on the return from AK before proceeding down the Cassiar. I'll echo the negative reviews of this park, but our choice was to drive 15 more miles into Watson Lake, and then have to double back to hit the Cassiar, or boondock and compete for the busy turnouts on the north end of the Cassiar. Check-in is painfully slow. Roads are a bit bumpy but not bad and navigable for big rigs. We had pull-through site #32 that was 50 amp (no breaker) with water but no sewer at site. Site plenty long for our 38" MH plus toad, and the sandy gravel pad was relatively level. Trees blocked view to Dish satellite. Sign says cable TV - no cable TV. Water pressure was average. WiFi not broadcast throughout park, but our extender captured the signal from the office, and given the low usage we were able to stream TV. The website is slick and makes the place look nice - it's not. Plus the hyped gift shop is not open this year. We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This campground is expensive for the stay ($73.50 CAD for 4 people). There is no sewer at your site; however, they do have a dump station. They state they are Good Sam but you can only get a discount if you pay cash. They accept US dollars but their exchange rate is unacceptable, so if you pay cash you basically lose any discount. They state they have wi-fi but the service is only available at the office. The facilities are quite a ways from the campground so we did not use the restrooms or showers. We tried to use their gas station and pump stated card denied. We left only to find out a charge for someone else pumping gas hit our card. While the site are all long pull-throughs, you are limited to where your park so you can reach hook up facilities. We travel the area often and going forward will choose not stay here. We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.

For the amount you pay, the staff was rude, the service was horrible. Plus they add on fees for everything. Example, you pay a $3.00 "recycle" fee. Then you are supposed to separate your trash?? Some of the spots are OK, the drive through sites are fairly level, all you get is power and water. They have cable. But it doesn't work, they have WiFi, but you have to walk up to the laundry and it is so slow as to be worthless for the amount that you have to pay to use it. We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Sign forest is very neat. The Aurora Borealis Interpretive Centre is very scientific, but we were not pleased for the price that we paid.

Unfortunately, we stayed here 2 different nights. They claim Good Sam, but only with cash. No WIFI at all. No phone service at all in park (ATT). Very pricey for what you get. Sites are somewhat apart but not the best. Fairly large park for area. We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great showers. Wide spaces. Not exactly level, but "do-able" with leveling blocks. Huge store and nice cafe. Looks like they used to have some other amenities (gold panning) that they've closed. Open-area RV wash. We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

When we arrived and pulled up to park office it said closed there and to register at store. This was ok except my husband is disabled and it was a fairly long walk The roads in and out of the sites are terrible with huge and numerous potholes. The sites in the RV park are large pull through and fairly level. The price was high and discount only given if you pay cash Wifi was advertised but could not get it at our site only at store and no cell service. I would not stay in this park again mainly because of the price for this area and what you get for the price. We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Highest price park I have stayed in YT and BC. I had to use the Wifi in the laundry because it doesn't work in the camp sites. Surprised there was no cell service only 15 miles out of Watson Lake. Nice campground for the area but again way overpriced. 5th trip on the Alcan, will keep driving past this one in the future. We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.

I had a flat, level, gravel, pull through site. There was a picnic table. The site had 30 amp power and water. Our pull through site was about 80 feet long. There were trees on both sides of my site. A free dump station was available on the way out. There was no AT&T reception; there was no over the air radio or TV channels. There was cable with seven channels. The only place to get WI-FI was in the office. We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Over priced campground, but what choices do you have if going South on the Cassier HWY. If I do it again I would keep going and dry camp. This place was dusty and the most we had to pay on our Alaska trip. It did have 50amp power. You had to go to the Laundry building if you wanted Internet.

We ate a the restaurant which again was overpriced and the food was not very good. They would not serve you water as they said they were doing there part to conserve such a natural resource, but would sell you a $2 bottle of water. Clearly just a way to increase your bill.

I would try not to stay here again. Dry Camp at a beautiful overlook and save the money. You will enjoy it better. We camped at Baby Nugget RV Park in a Motorhome.
