    ok but for the speed round... there is also a locally used shortened version of this word.

    What is it and how is it pronounced?

    I'll give Janet's list a try. All Native American I'd guess (lots of those in OH too)
    Aeneas = ee-NEE-us
    Steilacoom = STELLA-come
    Sekiu = SAY-koh (like the watch?)
    Sequim = SAY-kim
    Tshletshy Creek = SCHLITZ-he (like the Beer?)
    Wahkiakus = wa-KAY-coos
    Puyallup = had relatives that lived here so, I recuse myself

    I think it is more yucka-geeney, but that's applying my Texas accent.

    I know how to pronounce Sequim because I heard Janet say it. So it may not be fair for me to answer, but Bankshot answered mine correctly due to his having a wife from Texas, who most surely knew the correct pronunciation, so here goes. I'm pretty sure it is skwim, rhymes with swim. The others? No clue.

    Good, you got 1 and 3, but #2 is more like "bear", the animal. Course if you have a Texas accent like I do, it could sound more like bay-er.

    Shoot, I forgot to circle back on this.

    It's YAWK-ah-GAY-nee or The YAWK for short.

    I've been accused of having a thick accent, so that's probably why I make Bexar a 2-syllable word. lol

    For years I pronounced "Cacapon" wrong even though I was there numerous times. I felt really stupid, because I thought it was one of those words that doesn't follow the typical pattern of word pronunciation, and was just saying it the way I had first heard it.
