Knoebels Amusement Resort, Elysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

One of the reasons we find value at Knoebels campground is you do not have to pay admission to go into the Amusement park. Also pets are allowed to enter the amusement park which makes things very convenient. In addition the pet owners we noticed were very responsible. Geography at the campground was moderately to heavily wooded and mostly hilly. Roads are paved. Our site was above average in size and had crushed stone put down though I always have to use several boards to level the trailer. Our area where we stay is cut into a steep hill so noticed many other sites were not very level either. Good signal on our Verizon cell. No problems with our power box. Campground water does have a treated taste to it so bring water for coffee or drinks might be a good idea. Good signal on our Verizon cell. Staff was professional, friendly and experienced on how a campground should be run. Campground staff does a real good job keeping the bathrooms/shower areas clean. Looking forward to going again next year! We camped at Knoebels Amusement Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Old Stage Campground, Madbury, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped by to visit some friends. Campground is level, moderately wooded with lots of shade. RVs/sites that we noticed were very well maintained. Nice pool. Staff pleasant. Long entrance road and narrow in some areas which might make it difficult for two RVs to pass each other. Clean bathrooms & showers. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at Old Stage Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Camden Hills State Park, Camden, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Very scenic campground and sounding area. Geography at the campground was heavily to moderately wooded and hilly. Better than average privacy between sites in wooded areas. Roads and sites are mostly packed dirt. Roads are on the narrow side, some pot holes and backing in can be a problem especially with the larger RVs maybe over 30'. We needed to use all of our wood planks to level our trailer as our campsite was very un-level both front to back and side to side, noticed many other sites also un-level and many RVs that we saw were not level. Friendly and helpful staff. Our W/E hookups were in good working order. Bathrooms/showers kept clean. Showers were poorly lit and could use better lighting. Dump station in good working order. Somewhat week signal on our Verizon cell, didn't use the WiFi. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at Camden Hills State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We found the one bike trail better suited for off road biking. Lots of kayaking opportunities at nearby Lake Megunticook and Norton Pond, don't forget to Kayak the causeway between the two lakes. Award winning Claws restaurant in Rockland and River Ducks Ice Cream in Camden are both most stops! Don't forget to visit Owls Head & Rockland Breakwater Lighthouses, about 30 minutes away! If your into hiking 1300' Mt Megunticook is a must hike, spectacular views!!

Copake Camping Resort (formerly Copake KOA), Copake, New York

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We were aware that there was lots of spring rain leading up to our trip at Copake camping resort, this said we still think they could have found the time to do a better job raking up the sites and cutting the grass in our camping area. In addition some of the large trees had poison ivy growing up them. All said we don't consider this a deal breaker. Staff was helpful and informative. Camp roads and sites that we noticed were wide and had crushed stone and in good condition. Also sites we noticed seemed level and were laid out with plenty of backing in space. Our full hookups were in good working order. Good signal on our Verizon cell, WiFi worked well but we were there during off season. Seasonal campers/sites were well maintained. Geography of the campground for the transients has some open areas along with some lightly wooded areas and mostly flat. Bathrooms/showers clean. We enjoyed this campground and would return. We camped at Copake Camping Resort (formerly Copake KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

Nickerson Park Family Campground, Chaplin, Connecticut

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Lots of rain this spring to start our camping season at Nickerson Park. This year we stayed in a different area of the park and unfortunately our site & area is at one of the lower points of the campground as there were lots of ruts and I thought more could be done to improve the drainage. Our hookups were in good working order. Good seasonal presence here, some seasonal campers were showing some age. Bathrooms/showers were clean. Staff was professional and friendly. We did not try the WiFi but we had a good signal on our Verizon cell phone. Geography at campground is level with open and shaded areas. Entrance road to the campground is unattractive. We enjoyed this campground and would return. We camped at Nickerson Park Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lums Pond State Park, Bear, Delaware

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Been 14 years since we have last been here and much has changed as the last time we were here there were just a few electric only sites and now most sites appear to have full hookups. Our hookups were in good working order and our site was level. Our back in site was about 55' long and noticed most sites were similar in size. Getting in with the larger Rv's could be a problem. Geography at the campground was lightly wooded and mostly level. Camp roads and sites are paved. Plenty of trails to walk or bike. Good signal on our Verizon cell. Bathrooms/showers were clean & updated. We would return if back in the area. We camped at Lums Pond State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Assateague State Park, Berlin, Maryland

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We again booked a site in the electric loop. Most sites in our loop were large, and were probably about 80' long give or take. Most camp roads and sites are paved. All sites were easy back ins. State park is in a beach area so everything is flat with little shade. Beach is separated by one dune and a 2 or 3 minute walk from your site. Painful sand burrs around on the grassy areas so be careful to use some type of foot ware. Professional and friendly staff, park rangers make routine patrols. Horses make frequent visits. Campground & park great for biking and kayaking. All the bathrooms/showers were open this time for the holiday weekend and we found them much cleaner from my previous review. Spotty signal on our Verizon cell. We will return again! We camped at Assateague State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Atlantic Oaks Campground, Eastham, Massachusetts

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects no discount. Once again we enjoyed our stay. Our pull through site was very wide and long. Our full hookups we in good working order. Bathrooms/showers kept super clean. Interior roads packed stone/dirt, our site was mostly sand. Geography at the campground was lightly to moderately wooded and mostly level. Camp store seemed well stocked and was tastefully decorated. There seems to be plenty of pull though sites that can accommodate the larger RV's up to 45' but I would definitely ask before making reservations. As mentioned in the start of my review that we had no discounts for this year but a 40% increase from previous year is over the top. Friendly and helpful staff. Cape Cod Rail Trail is right behind campground. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at Atlantic Oaks Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the high Speed ferry out of Hyannis to Nantucket for a mid week discount. Recommend getting reservations to stay as long as possible as there is much to do and see on the island. Nantucket is relatively flat and good for biking, lots of shopping in town. Whaling museum is definitely worth a visit as with the beaches.

Ivy Lea Campground - Parks of the St. Lawrence, Lansdowne, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Geography at the campground is somewhat hilly with some open and shaded areas. Our W/E hookups were in good working order but our site was very unlevel and had ruts. Roads and sites were crushed stone with some pot holes. Most sites were back in and some could accommodate the larger RV's. Some long term campers here. Found everyone respectful. Bathrooms/showers NOT kept clean during our stay. In addition unoccupied sites which included ours needed raking up. Campground beach was okay. Large storage area for boats and trailers with easy excess to boat launch for exploring 1000 Island NP. Camp store was poorly stocked, Staff was professional. We will not return. Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nicely maintained campground. Bathrooms/showers clean & updated. Sites are tight together but most have good length to accommodate the larger Rv's. Interior roads are pavement, sites are crushed stone which most seemed to be in good shape. Campground is mostly open, flat with some trees about. Our full hookups were in good working order and our site was level. Good signal on our Verizon cell. Camp store was decently stocked. Staff was professional. Campers/Rvers were respectful. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at 1000 Islands / Association Island KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Camping Alouette, St-Mathieu-de-Beloeil, Quebec

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

This is a campground that is divided into two areas. Lower part is open with few trees and upper part is moderately to heavily wooded and somewhat hilly. Highway noise in all areas. Most sites, which included ours, looked level and had crushed stone put down. Interior roads were paved and in good shape. Plenty of pull-through and back-in sites and most looked easy to get into with the larger RVs. Our full hookups were in good working order. Good signal on our OTA roaming. Bathrooms/showers were clean & updated. Camp store seemed well stocked. Heavy seasonal/snowbird presence here, folks were very friendly. Staff was professional and friendly and very helpful about the area around the campground. Would certainly return again or recommend this place to anyone. Camping Transit, Levis, Quebec

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

This is a campground that is close to the highway, if you're a light sleeper or if you Rv is poorly insulated I would recommend getting a site as close to the camp office on opposite side. Geography at the campground is mostly open and flat. Roads are either paved or packed stone and seem to be in good shape. Our pull through site was level, had crushed stone and our full hooks were in good working order. Also noticed most other sites the same and sites were available for the larger Rvs. Our OTA roaming signal was poor. Campground is very well maintained as with the bathrooms & showers were clean and updated. Staff was professional and friendly and very helpful about the area around the campground. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at Camping Transit in a Travel Trailer.

Char-Bo Campgrounds, Derby, Vermont

Overall Rating:

This campground is occupied by mostly seasonal and local Transients. Noticed most RV's were in good shape. Found everyone respectful. Overall campground is well maintained and recent upgrades are noticeable. Noticed lots of open newer sites that can accommodate the larger RV's. Geography of the campground is mostly open with some wooded areas. Roads are either packed stone or pavement and seem to be in good shape. Most sites we noticed looked level and were back in with crushed stone. Bathrooms & showers were clean and updated. We used this campground as a stop before going into Canada which worked out well. Staff was professional, friendly. Good signal on our Verizon cell. Our full hookups were in good working order. Camp store was well stocked. We again had a wonderful time on our return trip to Knoebels. Always a huge assortment of different Rv types from all age groups and always find everyone very respectful. Winhall Brook COE, South Londonderry, Vermont

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We had another good stay at Winhall Brook. No signal at all on our Verizon cell phone in the campground area. Campground office offers a WiFi hot spot which has a nice sitting area to use your devices. In addition noticed Londonderry, South Londonderry, Jamaica and other nearby towns are mostly a dead zone for Verizon. Helpful camp hosts. Campground has some hills and is a mix of wooded and open sites. Most W/E sites that we noticed were average or above in size and level. Campsites are plain dirt or grass pending on location to trees or open fields. Grounds are well maintained. Bathrooms and showers were clean and updated. As always found everyone very respectful. Careful of the bridge to the south side of campground. It is tough to cross for the RV's over 40'. Might want to call office ahead of time to be sure your RV is okay to cross. We enjoyed this campground and would certainly return or recommend this place to anyone. We camped at Winhall Brook COE in a Travel Trailer.
