Toqua Campground, Vonore, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Admittedly, we are new to RVing. We have not stayed in many campgrounds yet. I can say we loved Toqua. There is not a lot of space between campsites, but the location, view, and staff are wonderful. There are 88 sites of which 66 are full-timers for the whole season. As a result the campground is full of seasoned campers and dead quiet. Upon entering the first thing we noticed is these people are set up to stay a long time. Cars, boats, everything to turn a campsite in to someone's home. There are many rules, but we appreciate them. In today's everything goes society many rules of common decency are ignored. We looked at the rules as helping us have a pleasant stay. I assume the other 66 full-time campers agree. The staff report the full-timers self police so, there is a real community feel. We camped at Toqua Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Any historians should visit Fort Loudoun just a couple miles up the road. Vonore is a very small town about 3 miles from the campground. The basics can begotten there. If you are looking for more you will need to go north to Maryville or south to Madisonville.
